Abstract
Data of the nationwide health survey SOMIPOPS show a higher number of physician visits for females than for males. Females report a total annual rate of 6,6 visits per person while males made 4,8 visits per person. Females have seen a gynecologist once a year. They report higher perceived morbidity than males which is considered to be the principal determinant of use of health services. Visits made for disorders of the female reproductive system accounts for 13,9% of the female visits. Preventive reasons for the last visit are more frequent among females.Entities:
