Guinea pig cochlear hair cell density; its relation to frequency discrimination.

H Burda.

Abstract

The density of guinea pig cochlear hair cells fluctuates within a narrow range in a regular and species-specific manner. Two density maxima may be identified within the range. This pattern of density changes resembles the curve of frequency discrimination thresholds reported for guinea pigs in the literature.
