Postural sway and gait of children with convergent strabismus.

P Odenrick, P Sandstedt, G Lennerstrand.

Abstract

Postural sway and gait of 35 children with convergent strabismus were tested and compared with those of a control group. They were found to have a short stride-length and single-limb support time in walking, particularly at slow speeds. The girls had a large postural sway, but not the boys. The results suggest a common visuomotor disturbance of eye and limb motor-control.
