[Helminthologic studies of waste water and the population of Braunschweig].

The concentration and the different species of eggs of helminths in the municipal raw wastewater of Braunschweig were investigated (Table 1). At the same time, an attempt has been made to obtain a picture of occurrence of helminths in the population during the years 1980-1983 (Table 2). We found Ascaris the most frequent in the wastewater but Taenia eggs in stool specimens of human beings. Possible causes of the helminthism and resulting consequences are discussed.
