Abstract
Common clinical isolates were tested to determine their ability to multiply after 7 days at 4 degrees C in trypticase soy broth. 34% of the 214 isolates grew in the cold. Citrobacter freundii, Group D Enterococci, Klebsiella oxytoca, Proteus vulgaris, Providencia rettgeri and Serratia marcescens grew best of all. The importance of growth in the cold is discussed.Entities:
