Abstract
Three patients with unexplained synovial inflammation were found to have an ulcerative, granulomatous synovitis on biopsy. Maize starch was identified in giant cells within the granulomata. Starch synovitis has clinical and histological similarities to starch peritonitis, which is thought to be an example of a cell mediated immune response.Entities:
