The necessity to integrate psychology with, and the significance of the psychological assimilation of the orthodontic appliances in, the treatment of children are pointed to. On the basis of ten years of experience acquired at the Clinic of Paedodontics at Timişoara (Romania), the authors emphasize the major guidelines for the management of children.
