Abstract
Carbamyl phosphate synthetase-I (CPS-I; EC 6.3.4.16), a mitochondrial enzyme of the urea-cycle, was studied in deactivated extracts of rat liver. It has been found to be activated in vitro by dithiothreitol (DTT) and Mg2+ ions. After reduction by DTT, thioredoxins, isolated from rat liver, were able to activate CPS-I by 468%.Entities:
