Abstract
This study investigated the histogenesis of the Kaposi's sarcomas occurring in young homosexual men. Paraffin sections of seven tumors were stained for factor VIII-related antigen by the unlabeled peroxidase antiperoxidase method. Both the spindle cell component and the cells lining vascular channels contained factor VIII-related antigen, a marker for endothelial cells. Our study supports the hypothesis that both components of Kaposi's sarcoma are of endothelial cell origin.Entities:
