Abstract
Therapeutic endoscopy of the GI tract is emerging as a new discipline. Its use for such procedures as foreign body removal, polypectomy, and papillotomy is widely accepted, but newer applications--including endoscopic hemostasis and injection sclerotherapy of esophageal varices--are still controversial. An overview of therapeutic guidelines and state-of-the-art technique is presented.Mesh:
