Assessment of hand function.

D M Evans, D S Lawton.

Abstract

Hand assessment involves analysis of developing deformities and the pathological changes causing them, and a study of how these changes affect the various components of hand function both individually and combined into activities required by the patient. A detailed recording of this information helps in the planning of treatment, and is essential for reliable evaluation of the effects of treatment.
