[Radioulnocarpal and mediocarpal articulations. Anatomic organization and biomechanical bases].

F Bonnel, Y Allieu.

Abstract

Based on their personal work and a general review of the literature, the authors have studied the anatomy and the physiology of the carpal bones and the radioulnocarpal joint. The wrist complex includes 33 ligaments which may be divided into three groups: intra-articular, intracapsular and extracapsular. The biomechanic behavior of each carpal bone, joint and ligamentous structure was considered.
