[Immunohistochemical drug detection in autopsy material].

M Krämer, R Poetzsch-Heffter.

Abstract

Drugs (barbiturates) could be qualitatively identified in formalin-fixed and in paraffin-embedded autopsy material, as well as in fresh-frozen unfixed tissue by using the PAP method. Sensitivity could be considerably increased by application of an additional antibody. The practical use of this kind of determination is the possibility of retrospective examination if more suitable material is not available.
