[Sonographic screening studies in pregnancy].

Actual situation of sonographic diagnostics stresses the performance of screening investigations in each trimester of pregnancy. Recommended periods are the 10th, 20th and 32nd week of gestation. The major intention of the programme consists of the assessment of abortions, fetal malformations and fetal growth retardation. The efficiency of the screening in the detection of clinically latent pathology attains 15, 0.5, and 4.5 per cent, respectively, in each trimester.
