Abstract

The presence of HBsAg in the serum samples of patients with Acute Viral Hepatitis was detected by various methods, such as ELISA, RIA and PHA in order to determine the most sensitive technic. According to our results ELISA was found to be the most sensitive commercially available test for HBsAg. Among 92 patients with presumptive viral hepatitis HBsAg was detected in 36, 32 and 16 of them by ELISA, RIA and PHA tests respectively.
