Tuberculous fistula between the 5th lumbar vertebra and the colon presenting as a left thigh abscess.

Abstract

An abscess of the left thigh due to a fistula between a tuberculous 5th lumbar vertebra, the sigmoid colon and the muscles and subcutaneous tissues of the left thigh is described. This appears to be a unique occurrence and was only diagnosed at post-mortem. The treatment and diagnosis are discussed.
