Open cancellous bone grafting of infected bone defects.

Abstract

A historical review of the role of cancellous bone grafting in the management of bone infections is presented. The technique of open cancellous bone grafting is explained in detail, along with the early experience of the author. The indications, advantages, disadvantages, and limitations of this technique are discussed.
