Abstract
Isolated colonic pseudoobstruction can occur in two forms, acute and chronic. Acute colonic pseudoobstruction is a transient problem that is usually associated with systemic illnesses. Chronic colonic pseudoobstruction usually recurs or persists. It may occur with or without underlying systemic diseases. Clinical manifestation and treatment of each form is different. Therefore, these two syndromes should be dealt with differently.Entities:
