Abstract
The immunocytochemical localization of glutaminase, which we have proposed as a marker for excitatory amino acid neurotransmitters was determined in the guinea pig auditory nerve. Glutaminase-like immunoreactivity was seen in auditory nerve terminals in the cochlear nucleus and in the cell bodies of the auditory nerve in the cochlea. This staining was seen in type I and not type II spiral ganglion cells. Glutaminase-like immunoreactivity was also observed in granule cells in the cochlear nucleus.Entities:
