A comparative study of the bronchospasmolytic effect of tulobuterol and fenoterol in patients suffering from a reversible bronchial obstruction.

F Maesen, J Smeets, J Polderman.

Abstract

The bronchospasmolytic effect of a single oral dose of 2.5 mg tulobuterol was compared with that of 2.5 mg fenoterol in a double-blind study in patients with reversible bronchial obstruction. The effects of tulobuterol were more quickly observed and were, in general, more advantageous. However, only at 120 min after administration of the drugs the difference showed a statistical trend (p less than 0.1). Unwanted effects from both drugs were comparable.
