An endoscopic technique for third ventriculostomy.

J K Vries.

Abstract

A simple technique for performing third ventriculostomy is described. The technique utilizes a fiberoptic endoscope inserted through a small burr hole over the coronal suture. The technique has been successfully employed in five patients without complications. If better criteria for selection of patients for third ventriculostomy could be established, this procedure would provide an ideal means for treatment.
