Abstract
The relationship between naturally occurring circulating stratum corneum autoantibodies and experimentally produced antibodies to a non ionic detergent soluble (NIDS) protein fraction from human stratum corneum has been investigated. Using indirect immunofluorescence and indirect haemagglutination techniques, anti NIDS protein serum was shown not to inhibit the autoantibody-antigen reaction. Furthermore no direct interaction could be demonstrated between sheep red blood cells coated with stratum corneum autoantigen and anti NIDS protein serum. The NIDS protein antigens therefore represent a separate and distinct class of stratum corneum antigens.Entities:
