The radiographic detection of foreign bodies.

J Fodor, J C Malott.

Abstract

While many foreign bodies are easily demonstrated on routine radiographs, others are of low radiopacity and may necessitate the use of special techniques or equipment for detection. Since routine radiography is usually the initial method for the investigation of a suspected foreign body, it is beneficial for the technologist to be familiar with several more effective techniques. The purpose of this paper is to acquaint the technologist with the application of these techniques in foreign body detection.
