Abstract
A simple and rapid procedure for large scale purification of plasmid DNA is described. The procedure consists of two main steps: 1. Alkaline extraction of plasmid DNA (by a slight modification of the method of Birnboim and Doly (1)) and 2. Purification of the crude extract by hydroxyapatite chromatography. The plasmids obtained are biologically active and can be used in gene manipulation experiments.Entities:
