Abstract
Incarcerations and perforations of foreign bodies in the gastrointestinal tract are relatively rare. In most cases the foreign bodies must be removed by operation, especially after having passed the stomach. A patient is described with an ingested chicken bone which had incarcerated in the sigmoid colon and had brought about an inflammatory stenosis of the gut. After endoscopical removement of the foreign body the symptoms of the patient disappeared and the findings in the gut returned to normal, so that an operation could be avoided.Entities:
