[In vitro parthenogenesis in the human species].

Abstract

During the examination of some 800 oocytes prior to in vitro fertilization, twelve exhibited evidence of parthogenetic activation. Four of these twelve underwent cleavage, the cleavage of one being normal. In vitro parthenogenesis is compared with two forms of parthenogenesis observed in vivo, namely ovarian teratomas and hydatidiforms moles.
