[Value of fecal leukocyte studies in cases of acute diarrhea].

Abstract

The usefulness of screening for presence of fecal leukocytes has been investigated prospectively in 87 ambulatory patients with diarrhea. This simple test has proved valuable in helping to select patients for whom laboratory studies of stools for etiologic agents are indicated.
