Abstract
Free L-proline was hydroxylated to free L-hydroxyproline by cell free extract of Streptomyces griseoviridus P8648. The hydroxylation reaction required ferrous ion, 2-ketoglutarate and ascorbate. Zinc ion, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and alpha,alpha'-dipyridyl inhibited the reaction. Optimum temperature and pH were 25.0 degrees C and 7.5, respectively.Entities:
