Rapid detection of bluetongue virus antigen in the sera and plasma of camels, sheep and cattle in the Sudan, using the gel immunodiffusion test. Brief report.

E M Abu Elzein.

Abstract

Using the gel immunodiffusion (GID) test, rapid detection of bluetongue virus antigen could be done in sera and plasma of naturally or experimentally infected animals. Discernible precipitation lines could be detected in less than 24 hours. The procedure is most suitable for BT diagnosis in endemic areas.
