Abstract
Active and passive immunization against tetanus is one of the most used vaccination procedures in our population. Detection of size and duration of protection till now failed due to expensive methods. Counter-Immuno-Electrophoresis (CIE) is presented as a simple and non-expensive method with adequate sensitivity, and allows to obtain data concerning immunity of tetanus-immunized persons in almost any case. Rarely positive results as to antitoxin level are obtainable only by more sensitive methods. Further detection methods, and examinations of tetanus-immunity of "problem patients" showing immunofailure and of collectives immunized on various schedules will be reported later.Entities:
