Training parents as mental health agents.

J F D'Augelli, J M Weener.

Abstract

The utilization of parents as mental health agents for their children is a service delivery strategy likely to have major impact on enhancement of normal families. Using an educational enhancement model, a parenting relationship training program was designed and implemented. Initial evaluation of specific short-term effects and differences between mothers and fathers is discussed. Implications for further program development and evaluation are noted.
