Abstract
Five elderly patients with chronic pyrophosphate arthropathy developed stress fractures of the tibia. All patients had deformed, painful knees with the result that their increasing symptoms were not readily attributed to a stress fracture. Such a possibility should be considered in patients with chronic pyrophosphate arthropathy since early recognition makes management of the stress fracture easier.Entities:
