Clinical experience with pimozide: emphasis on its use in postherpetic neuralgia.

E E Duke.

Abstract

Pimozide has been shown to be effective in the treatment of delusions of parasitosis and other monosymptomatic hypochondriacal conditions. In this paper it is shown that this benefit may be extended to severe cases of neurotic excoriations and to some cases of postherpetic neuralgia characterized by pain, paresthesias, and excoriations.
