Abstract
Five factors (collagen stimulating factors) have been isolated from healing murine skin wounds which stimulate prolyl hydroxylase activity and collagen synthesis in mouse fibroblasts in vitro. These factors stimulate general protein synthesis to a much smaller extent. Collagen stimulating factors are detectable in wounds three days after healing begins and disappear after six days when healing is complete. These data indicate that these factors may modulate collagen production during wound healing.Entities:
