Beta-Endorphin. Synthesis and radioreceptor-binding activity of the ostrich hormone.

D Yamashiro, R G Hammonds, C H Li.

Abstract

Ostrich beta-endorphin has been synthesized by the solid-phase method. Opiate activity in a radioreceptor binding assay is about seven times that of human beta-endorphin. Structural differences within positions 6-15 account for the increased binding potency.
