Content of dopamine in the nigrostriatal system during electrical stimulation of the caudate nucleus head.

S I Bazhenova, N B Saul'skaya.

Abstract

Work was conducted in 16 adult cats in conditions of acute experimentation. Change was investigated in the content of dopamine in several subcortical structures after stimulation of the head of the caudate nucleus by a current of high and low frequency. It was shown that dopamine content in the nigrostriatal system depends on frequency of stimulation of the caudate nucleus head.
