Abstract
The comparative activity of cefotaxime, cefazolin, cefamandole and cefoxitin was studied on 80 strains of anaerobic bacterial species: 14 Clostridia, 60 Bacteroides fragilis, 6 Peptococcus. The new cephalosporins showed an increase in the in vitro activity against Bacteroides fragilis, but their efficacy was still inferior to that of the 5-nitro-imidazole derivatives.Entities:
