Abstract
The case report of a patient with a large retroperitoneal malignant fibrous histiocytoma treated with a combination of radiation therapy and surgery is presented. At the time of the first laparotomy, the lesion was deemed unresectable and biopsied. Reexploration after irradiation to a dose of 3800 rad showed the tumor to be more than 50% smaller and easily resectable. There has been no recurrence during the ensuing two and a half years.Entities:
