Abstract
A non-invasive system for monitoring chest and abdominal motion is described. The system is based on the use of two microwave interferometers. A linear relationship with tidal volume can be obtained using an isovolume technique for calibration. Although the system is not an improvement on existing equipment, it is simpler and cheaper and well suited to rehabilitation work.Mesh:
