Microtia--a long-term follow-up of 44 reconstructed auricles.

R C Tanzer.

Abstract

Forty-three microtia patients have been reviewed 6 to 19 years after auricular reconstruction with autogenous rib cartilage. The adverse emotional reaction to microtia has been ameliorated in 88 percent of them. The need for subsequent revision of the reconstructed auricle has been almost eliminated.
