Etiopathogenesis of Meniere's disease: a hypothesis.

Abstract

A new hypothesis of etiopathogenesis of Meniere's disease proposes that an autoimmune response to type II collagen could induce idiopathic endolymphatic hydrops. This hypothesis is extended to provide a rational explanation for Meniere's attacks.
