Abstract
Cells having the temperature-sensitive mutation groES131(Ts) were isolated from Escherichia coli K-12 strain C600T by thymineless death selection at 44 degrees C. This conditionally expressed mutation affected both cellular DNA and RNA syntheses at nonpermissive temperature, in addition to rendering cells unable to propagate phage lambda at permissive temperature.Entities:
