Determination of ionization constants in mixed aqueous solvents of varying composition by a single titration.

Abstract

A potentiometric titration method is proposed in which only one titration is necessary to obtain pK'a values for different solvent compositions. The method allows the results to be extrapolated to the value for pure water. Examples are given, and the advantages and disadvantages of the method are discussed.
