[Bladder neck perforations caused by TURP (transurethral prostatectomy)].

Z Kolozsy, Z Csapó.

Abstract

In 511 successive transurethral resections of the prostate the postoperative cystography has been performed as a routine. A total of 66 perforations of the bladder neck have been observed, 68 per cent of which had been diagnosed at the transurethral adenectomy. In 45 cases the perforation of the capsule has been discovered only with the help of the cystography. If you aim at the total transurethral ablation of the adenom tissue, a certain number of perforation of the capsule is unavoidable: the causes, diagnostic and therapy of which as well as its postoperative control are outlined. It is recommended to perform the routine cystography after transurethral resections of the prostate.
