The neurotoxicity of acrylamide: an overview.

Abstract

This paper summarizes recent research conducted on the neurotoxicity of acrylamide. Of particular interest is research concerning the possible effects that acrylamide might have on the central nervous system. Neurochemical and psychopharmacological studies indicating that acrylamide affects neurotransmitter systems involved in the mediation of behavior are reviewed. Needs for future research are discussed.
