Abstract
One-hundred-twenty-two patients with breast carcinoma and pleural effusion were analyzed for the laterality of effusion and survival. Ipsilateral effusion occurred in 83% of the patients. The median survival of these patients was six months after the onset of effusion. Systemic therapy is recommended even in the absence of other evidence of metastases.Entities:
