Transcervical prostatectomy.

An operative technique is described for the enucleation of an adenomatous prostate through a transverse incision made across the bladder neck. Apart from the technical advantage of this approach, the results in 60 patients showed a shorter postoperative recovery and an earlier return of satisfactory bladder function than with other techniques.
