Abstract
The stomach is usually not affected in cases of alkaline corrosive ingestion, being protected by its acid content. With large amounts of alkali ingestion there may be gastric necrosis leading to early perforation. We report a case of alkali ingestion with two unusual findings: emphysematous gastritis and late perforation.Entities:
