Sulphomucins and precancerous lesions of the human stomach.

J R Jass, M I Filipe.

Abstract

The histochemical demonstration of sulphomucin secretion by gastric adenomatous polyps and adjacent metaplastic epithelium suggests this glycoprotein may be a marker of premalignant change. A possible relationship with fetal sulphoglycoprotein antigen is discussed.
