Abstract
This report describes a patient with myotonic dystrophy who had severe action and percussion myotonia. The patient was unresponsive to diphenylhydantoin therapy. Treatment with acetazolamide, 250 mg daily, decreased the myotonia markedly. A possible mechanism of the favorable effect of acetazolamide in myotonia is discussed.Entities:
